They say that the movies have very potent effects to its avid fans; it has been used to effective drive people to think, feel and even act a certain way. It is no wonder then, that some movies could entice people to pack their traveling bags and go off to a different place. Here are some great examples:
Lord of the Rings (LOTR). The movie was like putting a face to a name. The name was Middle earth and the place was Queensland, New Zealand. Everybody knew Middle Earth through the books but no one could have imagined it here on OUR Earth. Makes you want to go off on a LOTR pilgrimage to New Zealand.
Before Sunset and Before Sunrise. A lot of movies showcase the beauty of Europe- Only You, Vicky, Christina Barcelona, French Kiss- yet this two-part movie from Richard Linklater is the one that best captures the experience of traveling and enjoying the sights, the sounds, the food and the romance that only Europe can offer.
Little Manhattan, Keeping the Faith, Sweet November… just to name a few of the films that make you want to spend an afternoon lounging in Central Park, walk through the busy streets that never sleep and have breakfast at Tiffany’s.
The 11th hour. This movie would make one want to travel… back in time. To try and undo some of the damage that human race has done to this planet.
