On a lazy afternoon when you don’t have anything else to do, all that’s showing on TV are replays, you’ve had your reading fix for the week and you really don’t feel like going out, try this – do a little survey among your friends and family about their dream destination. I would be willing to bet my bottom buck that aside from the occasional answer of “The moon!” most of the replies would be places in Europe (if not the continent of Europe itself).

Why do people want to go to Europe anyway? It’s a huge slab of land with different groups of people, all of which speak their very own language; you see mountains or green fields on one side and a high drop to the ocean from a cliff on the other side. Even the religions of the peoples are so diverse. It’s like a huge salad bowl with all the vegetables and fruits known to man mixed up inside.
Well, strange as it may seem, this diversity is exactly what makes Europe so attractive. Who would not want to visit the place where they make the best pasta, cheese and espresso? Who would not want to see the glories from past cultures and the treasures of art stored in glamorous museums, temples and churches scattered all over Europe? Who would not want to get lost into a crowd of people speaking one Romantic language after another?
Who wouldn’t want to be dizzied by the wonder that only Europe can offer?
